In this Transitional Kitchen a Whistler and Shaughnessy combination profile was selected in a Maple Species and Carriage Black finish. This high contrast kitchen borrows contemporary and traditional styles. It merges an exaggerated shaker style door profile with three inch thick countertops in white quartz which are atypically flushed with the lower cabinets. The marriage of Traditional, high-tech materials and technology is further accentuated by the mixture of solid Italian white Carera Marble and a Stainless Steel Backsplash that is all washed by Xenon recessed strip lighting.
To lighten the dark and rich cabinet finish, stark white seamless countertops and white marble are used in combination with glass doors in the hutch, island and fridge. The illuminated glass doors and smoked shelves give depth and balance to the overall scheme while further subduing the deep Carriage Black finish.
This sophisticated yet progressive Tuxedo look is finally created by studding the cabinet doors and drawers with a combination of perfectly in tuned classic retro knobs and contemporary solid metal bar pulls.
